About
The Apostleship of Prayer is an organization dedicated to encouraging Christians to pray the Morning Offering, a daily devotion that unites each person to Christ’s Eucharistic Sacrifice.
The Apostleship of Prayer was born out of the frustration of young Jesuit seminarians in Vals, France back in 1844. Desiring to be out in the mission fields, they grew anxious and impatient with their studies. So, their spiritual director, Father Francois Gautrelet, S.J., set up a meeting. He reminded them that the salvation of souls was a supernatural goal that could only be achieved through supernatural means. “Be apostles now,” he said, “apostles of prayer.” This spirituality was spread throughout the local communities and eventually became a global organization.
Today, there are millions of members worldwide. The national office for the United States is currently based in Milwaukee, WI, where Father James Kubicki, S.J. serves as the national director.
This blog consists mainly of Father Kubicki’s daily reflections, which can also be found on our website.
